Introduction

Welcome to the Thinkering & Tinkering Podcast. This is Fickle Father. And today we’re keeping it nice and funky because today, I’m sharing with you an interview with my wife. And if there’s one thing you need to know about my wife, it’s that she likes to keep things nice and funky.

Let me tell you a little bit about our story. We met at the BYU Bookstore where we both worked. And I’m not allowed to tell you what first attracted me to her, BUT I can tell you, it wasn’t her sweet spirit or her personality.

And that’s only because I didn’t know her at that time. I did very quickly learn that her spirit and personality were both amazing. One thing that I really admired about her is that she was so independent minded and strong willed. Like no one could get the best of her.

But she was also a very caring person. I remember we were driving somewhere one day and she was talking about one of her friends and how she was worried about her for various reasons. And I was just thinking, “Wow! You are good looking, strong willed, sharp, and deeply caring of others in a way I definitely did not.” What’s not to like?

And the answer is nothing – There’s really nothing that you wouldn’t like about her. When people say their spouse is their better half, it’s usually cliche, but in this case, she objectively is.

She’s healthy in body and spirit, she’s fun, she’s open, but she’s also dependable and still strong willed.

For this interview, I took her to one of the most romantic places in town – Ikea. We looked at furniture and then found an almost secluded spot in the cafeteria.

The purpose of this interview is to kind of get her perspective of what was happening during the time I’ve covered so far in my podcast autobiographical memoir. Some chronology might help… We talk about how we started in Vegas, our failed experiment moving to a Farm House in Idaho Falls, moving back to the suburbs where I started my own practice, and then coming to Washington for an in-house job, where we are now.

Now, without further ado, here is the interview…
